As promised in my previous post I am still in Cebu City.
The Philippines is a relatively new country. After being discovered by the Europeans a few hundred years ago it was under foreign rule for the most part. That means a lot of colonial influence. Fort San Pedro is a good example of this. If you are into history or military architecture then Fort San Pedro is a must-see.
Entrance to the fort
Remember Santo NiƱo? The image is present also here
View of the fort’s inner yard
And this is the fort’s wall
There is quite a lot of vegetation in the fort.
There is a park right next to the fort. And as a proper park it needs to have a monument or two.
In the next post we will visit the oldest house in the Philippines and view the cityscape from one giant temple.
