I have adjusted Philippines’s advertising slogan a bit. And for a good reason: because it’s true. I guess the majority will agree with the statement that beach holiday is a great idea. Being an island country it has plenty of beaches all over the place. Of course there are also parts of the coasts that are difficult to access. But from the tourist point of view there is no need to look further – just hit the beach. Disclaimer: if you are in Manila the nearest nice beach is not that close as you would imagine. That’s not a good news for all you folks who enjoy the big city life but also want to hang out on the beach. Oh well, worst case scenario is you take a bus without air-conditioning (did I say worst case scenario?) and head down from Manila to the town of Batangas. Although it looks not far on the map expect the trip to last more than 3 hours. And if we continue with the worst case scenario – you will be standing all the way.
Ok, enough of the negativity. I did take the bus and I did stand during the trip. It’s not that bad. The only difference is that I didn’t get to Batangas. But I will give you some more details on that in one of the future posts.
For now let’s just hit the beach. This time it will be the beach on Panglao.
And here is the same beach at sunset.
When photographing sunset close to the equator you need to be fast. Really fast. That’s because the sunset lasts just few short minutes. If your camera is buried under a pile of other things in your backpack – you may be too late to get that sunset photo. But there’s an alternative: use your phone :).
Surely you have noticed a fair amount of boats on the photos. Obviously I just had to see where they could take me. Find out in the next post….
