In my last post I have mentioned that somehow the gods from the greek (or roman) pantheon have found their way to Cebu. How is that possible? They are gods after all, so they can do whatever they please… Well, apart from this simple fact there is also a place called Temple of Leah and a Mr Teodorico Adarna is the initiator of the structure.
The edifice is inspired by traditional Roman architecture (which in turn was influenced by Greek designs). But still the question remains:
why is it in the Philippines overlooking Cebu City?
Not exactly a temple, the place is rather a tribute to Mr Teodorico’s wife – Leah. It is his way of showing his love and devotion to her. Let’s have a look around.
This is Leah.
Here obviously Leah is in the background.
These are some shots taken around the temple.
Just letting you know that the building is still a work in progress.
Which reminds me of other grand-scale projects that take years to build. Just to give you two examples: Crazy Horse and Sagrada Familia.
I will expand on these two monuments in other posts.
Did you enjoy the greenery surrounding the Temple of Leah? Then be sure to come back for my next post.
